Today’s discussion is on the locations of the Five Private Golf Communities here in Park City…I will go in alphabetical order.

Glenwild….I like it the best because it is only 9 miles from Old Town and 20 minutes to SLC and probably most importantly to most home owners only 32 minutes to the Salt Lake City International Airport. This location just north of Kimball Junction seems to put you in the closest location to the areas most people are desiring…and of course less than 15 minutes to Deer Valley Ski Resort, with Park City Mountain Resort only 7 and 12 minutes away. You will notice I did not mention Canyons Ski Resort because as you probably already know it is being combined with Park City Mountain Resort by Vail Resorts into one ski resort. So for the other communities I will use Kimball Junction as a reference point for SLC. (Picture above is from the Glenwild golf course taken by Judy Gomez.)

Promontory…It is less than five miles from the entrance to Glenwild…so the distance to SLC and the airport only adds five miles…and the distance into Old Town is also only about 9 miles. So other than being five miles farther from SLC, Promontory is the same distance to all the other amenities here in Park City. So while in some people’s minds Promontory is “farther out” in reality it is only 4 to 5 minutes further from SLC and just about the same distance to the ski resorts.

Red Ledges…Located in Heber City is about 20 miles from Old Town Park City…but at this time I would like to point out that when I speak to buyers coming from different parts of the country, I like to address distance in minutes, because when you use miles and they are from Phoenix, or Los Angles the miles can take forever to cover…not true here. So distances can seem much farther than in reality based on the traffic of where you are coming from. We simply don’t have “traffic jams” and when we do (like 4pm in the winter when the ski resorts close) it will only cost you 4-6 minutes.

Tuhaye…From Old Town Park City, Tuhaye is 12 miles away towards Kamas. It is a very easy and stress free drive. You would add 15-20 minutes from Kimball Junction to SLC.

Victory Ranch…This is the furthest community from Old Town and from SLC, however well worth the extra time. The beauty of Victory Ranch is seen from almost every lot. It is located in Francis, Ut about 22 miles from Old Town.
